Climate, Ratti: "Incentives and experimentation to safeguard cultural heritage"

"To safeguard cultural heritage, we need the right incentives and to experiment with different solutions, because those that work in Venice don't work in other parts of the world. We don't need to build more, but rather adapt to a changing climate and planet; this is the great challenge for architecture today." This was observed by Carlo Ratti, Curator of the 19th International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale, during the event 'Adaptation strategy for climate change that doesn't wait: engineering for territories and cultural heritage', organized in collaboration with the Soft Power Club and supported by Proger, at the International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale.
"We often forget that the cities we live in are rich in cultural heritage, particularly fragile assets that are our memory. We must be careful because climate change can have a huge impact," concluded Arianna Traviglia, Coordinator of the Center for Cultural Heritage Technology CCHT.
